Mikey Weinstein receives an inordinate amount of hate mail. This latest one is not quite as vitriolic as some of them. It seems more calm, less crazed than what he usually gets, especially the ones that are violently anti-Semitic. But this one may actually be creepier than the usual email for reasons involving his children.

Mr. Wienstein,

As Youth Pastor at our town’s largest church of spirit-filled followers of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the father of 5 children myself I find myself pitting your poor children.

From many media sources it seems that you have 2 or 3 sons and 2 daughters. You even have grandchildren. We have some their pictures up in our Young Family Prayer Center. We pray on them each day to finally see their evil father for what he truly is.

Do these poor creatures have any idea that their father and leader of the family is a devoted senior servant of Satan? How can they not see you evil as the world does?

Do your poor children know how evil you are? How invested in the dark Father of Lies you are? Millions around the world do know. More clever dangerous and evil than atom bombs.

Do they have any idea how badly you have injured our American army by taking Christ Jesus away from their lives? You won’t even let the Marines have a God Bless sign on base now?

Do your sons and daughters understand that their father will burn in flames for all time after he breathes his last breath? You will be a hallelujah bon fire of revenge for the Son of God.

Your children better get the blinders out of their eyes and see you for what millions in this world already do.

1. "Pitting your children" Misuse of English too.

Yep, it's creepy and why you can't come out as an atheist in America in small towns.

You don't go to church? There must be something really really wrong with you. I only speak to the people at the bank and the post office. We don't have any stores other than a dollar store. I have to drive 20 miles just to buy groceries. The only nice buildings in town are the major churches, Baptist and Methodist. Everything else is total poverty.


I've been told I'm going to hell. When I had a large handpainted Obama sign in my front yard in 2008 and 2012 a group of loud rural gun-loving, extremely evangelically religious, deer hunting, uneducated white people who hate anyone who is not a Republican, white Anglo-Saxon extreme Protestant and far extremist Christian like they are (I have been told on DU that "redneck" is a racist term) kept driving by in a loud pickup, apparently because mufflers and auto maintenance are foreign concepts to them, and yelling "FUCK OBAMA!" They did this several times. This is one of the reasons we have a fence with an electronic gate.

They could have blown away me and my husband with a well aimed shot, had they wanted to do so. Scary.

Apparently we are the only white Democrats in the whole county.

We can't put political signs out for fear of reprisal. There is much damage that they could do so we keep a low profile. Not everyone here is dangerous but enough to keep us on our toes. We are obviously 'different' and therefore suspect. We've been here since 1979 and it's slowly changing for the better but it only takes a few.

I won't put anything on my vehicle because those brains have very poor impulse control.

However, we are legion people, never forget it! We are not alone, even in our little burg there are many like us. Change is happening and they can't stop it.

I don't know how many times I have had to inform people that being an atheist has nothing to do with Satan, since Satan is just as make-believe as god. Don't believe in god, can't believe in his "fallen angel" either.

...graduated from the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. Where they were harassed and called "Christ-Killers," among other loving Xian terms. From Wiki:
