Well, either the Donald isn't as smart as he's made out to be, or he's just a panderer like the rest of the political class.

I'm sure if we tried, we could come up with lots of examples where Trump acts in opposition to the Bible, but I'm not going to bother. Now that Trump has declared his love for the Babble, I'm sure he thinks he's going a long way to sewing up the evangelical vote.

Ms Clinton says it's her favourite book. Perhaps Trump and Hilary should have a debate to prove which of them loves the Bible most.

(7,557 posts)Back in third grade or so, we had a priest come in once a week at our Catholic school, and chat with us. One day he sprang a pop quiz on us. He told us to list on a piece of paper as many of the books of the Bible that we could. You know, Genesis, Revelation, John, Corinthians, and everyone's favorite, Deuteronomy. I think everyone's page was blank. At that time, I didn't even understand the question, and I was not alone.
This bothered the priest to no end. He went near ballistic. He had to be quieted down by the nuns and led away. No kidding. He never chatted with us again.
I think we should spring this pop quiz on all the candidates, including Hillary. I would bet that Trump couldn't even name one.

(34,582 posts)A book I seriously considered burning, was better fiction than the bible. How could someone who wrote such a great book (Catch22) write such a turd.
