'I'm offended' is not an argument

Interesting piece over at WEIT, ranging from graphic novels to abortion to the Perpetually Offended, with whom we often grapple in Other DU Groups.

Can't believe somebody wants to ban the graphic novel Persepolis. Everybody in here probably knows this already, but one of its themes is the subjugation of Iranian women after the 1979 revolution. I really liked the graphic novel and the movie, and I'm a grumpy old white guy.

I'm not "offended" by injustices and inhumanity in this world. I'm angry, that's a choice, too.

But I can choose to do something with my anger, not quite so much if I'm just "offended".

Make them detail their offended thingies

...the plaintiff will proceed to embarrass themselves sufficiently in the eyes of the judge and the case will be tossed.

. ..this is the A&A Group all the time now? I mean, what's the point of establishing the group? Why do we have to keep saying "this is our protected group"?

Too bad that many jurors do not look to see what group they are sent to, and with the number of alerts, just because, it is better to be safe than sorry.

You (hypothetical believer) sign up to an ideology which mandates I should burn in hell for etrenity (which, as we all know, is a long period of time, especially as it drags near the end) for not accepting a/ to be saved by baby Jeezus, or b/ to declare there is only one dog and that muhamad is its prophet?

And to the answer, it's not me, it's dog's decree, I recommend this follow-up: if dog is good, why would he condemn folks to an eternity of fire and brimstone just for not believing in it?

Luckily, we here will be saved as we all believe in the one and only true God: the Holy Flying Spaghetti Monster (peace and parmesan be upon it always)
