Just plain not politically correct, but he asks an honest, and important question:

(19,936 posts)It would be locked. But if it lasted, I'd be very interested to see the discussion. Given the way DU has evolved (or devolved) recently, I suspect there would be lots of support for that student and condemnation of the professor, sad to say.

(7,911 posts)IMHO Truly dangerous enemies of democracy and freedom are taking cover behind "political correctness" and using it to discourage others from exposing their beliefs, or criticizing their true aims.
And that applies to the Christian Right as well.

(9,356 posts)Theorizes that the Far Right and Far Left aren't on opposite ends of a linear political spectrum. Instead they're located at each end of a horseshoe, and often greatly resemble each other. Especially in their authoritarian attempts to shut down free speech etc.
I'm personally starting to agree with that theory more and more. Especially as I get called into so many DU juries where someone Alerts because "that post hurt my fee-fees" or "I needed a Trigger Warning."
In fact, my current personal policy is to NEVER hide a post in what I see as free-speech cases. At this point, I'm so annoyed, I'd probably vote to Leave a post that advocated punching puppies.

(468 posts)The speaker even narrowed it down for her. He said "I am a jew, the leader of Hezbollah has said he wants my people to gather in Israel so he doesn't have to hunt globally to kill us all, are you for or against him?" she answered "For." He literally got her to publicly support genocide.

(7,753 posts)He was right and she was incredibly arrogant, self-righteous and just plain stupid.

I want to know if I should start gathering kindling for the pyre (since we apparently don't do crucifixions around here).
trotsky
(49,533 posts)asks Horowitz to clarify why he links MSA with terrorists. He makes his point by asking her to condemn Hamas or Hezbollah. She refuses.
There's an even more gasp-worthy moment near the end, he says the leader of Hezbollah hopes that all Jews will gather in Israel, so he doesn't have "hunt (them) down" globally. And then asks her: "FOR it or AGAINST it?"
She replies: "For it."
Chilling.

(4,033 posts)...so I guess I will be gathering some kindling.
...sorry Binkie, messenger and all that, you'll understand, right?
So, just stand right here while we tie you to this post.
Unless you prefer to opt for The Wheel?
Plus, crucifixion is a doddle...

(9,116 posts)I guess I now know the answer to the question: "What would someone have to say to make David Horowitz the second-biggest asshole in the room".
I really hope she wasn't serious.

Not that Horowitz isn't a creep as well.

(9,356 posts)Not the usual bullshit, of which he is full. But the Penn & Teller show "Bullshit" on Showtime.
That's the episode that turned me right off the show. I had watched every episode, with some major eye-rolling when the Libertarian propaganda showed up. But after that one I pretty much gave up.
The topic was "Liberal Indoctrination In Colleges" and Whorowitz was at his absolute slimiest.
The show was completely one-sided, with the looniest examples of liberal "indoctrination" carefully cherry-picked.
And naturally, no mention of conservative schools like Claremont, Pepperdine or good old Bob Jones University.
