"Islam was never a religion of peace."

NOTE: Posted in the Atheists/Agnostics Group, a safe haven where we do unto religion what religion has done unto us.

Who said that? Pam Geller? Geert Wilders? Somebody on DU?

No, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi said that. He's the head of ISIS who has been MIA for many months. His rantings are on a just-released audiotape:

"Islam was never a religion of peace. Islam is the religion of fighting. No one should believe that the war that we are waging is the war of the Islamic State. It is the war of all Muslims, but the Islamic state is spearheading it. It is the war of Muslims against infidels.

O Muslims, go to war everywhere. It is the duty of every Muslim."

The link below is the first one I found with the quote, which I just read from a Wire Report in the local paper.

While realizing he doesn't speak for all Muslims.

That would be wrong. Sort of like claiming that most American Xians are liberals plagued by a small minority of Fundamentalist Assholes.

But I would hesitate to say its unlike Christian fanatics. I believe the destruction of infidels wouldn't be beyond their belief system.

I don't understand why they are the big boogy man of Christianity. They are a circus act traveling the nation piling out of cars. I'm trying to think of a large Christian organization that is going around grabbing territory, forcing religious laws on secular nations, led by someone who threatens violence for insults to his belief...

Just once I'd like to hear the Pope or Pat Robertson or Franklin Graham say:

"Xianity was never the religion of peace, love and understanding. It was always about having power over people. Especially their private parts. Because as all Sophisticated Theologians know, if we grab'em by the balls/ovaries, their hearts and minds will follow. Oh, the money is pretty good, too."

It's still a bunch of superstitious mumbo jumbo that holds people and nations back.... just like every other religion.

Even when they say it is.

They're just atheists trying to make religion look bad.

Seriously.

Hitler was a closet atheist.
