War of the sexes: Gender theory is the problem, not solution, pope says

Oops, he did it again.

After comparing gender theory to the education of Hitler Youth in February, the pope now says "God entrusted the earth to the covenant between man and woman: its failure drains the world of affection and obscures the heavens of hope," and links it to the "harmful" "collective crisis of faith in God".

War of the sexes: Gender theory is the problem, not solution, pope says

VATICAN CITY (CNS) -- Eradicating male and female identities does nothing to solve the problem of unfair or disrespectful treatment based on people's gender, Pope Francis said.

"Getting rid of the difference is the problem, not the solution," he said April 15 during his general audience in St. Peter's Square.

...

Modern culture has done much to open up a new and deeper understanding of men and women, "but it also has introduced many doubts and much skepticism," he said.

"For example, I wonder if so-called gender theory may not also be an expression of frustration and resignation that aims to erase sexual differentiation because it no longer knows how to come to terms with it," the pope said.

With gender theory, which argues that male and female characteristics are largely malleable social constructs, he said, "we risk going backward."

The Grand Poobah of Misogyny then went on to say that "we have to do much more in favor of women".

Spare me, Frank.

No, really, just stop - you've done enough already, you fucking hypocrite.

Women would be better off if you and the catholic church ceased to exist.

"Do you really think that billions of believers all over the world are silly and deluded?"

No nice way to say it, but yeah. If you think the sort-of son of a god was killed and came back to life to "redeem" your "sins" and make sure that you'll go to a heaveny sort of a place for an infinite number of years after you die and rot, and that you'll see your dead grandparents and that beagle you had when you were a kid when you get there....yeah.

Before you know it.... people will drop out of regular society and join one that separate the men from the women and insist on celibacy and....

oh wait.

But I will say, anyone who does NOT think millions of years of evolution has maybe something to do with sexual roles in society is kidding themselves. We are not born blank slates, y'know.

Including ancient Egyptian, Greek and Roman deities together. The catacombs of Kom el-Shoqafa in Alexandria, Egypt, built circa the 2d Century CE. When I lived in Alexandria I loved visiting this place. It descends for 3 stories underground and is wonderfully creepy and weird.

The weirdest thing is the mix of religious symbolism. There's a painting of Anubis preparing a body for the afterlife, placed right above a painting of Persephone going to Hades. Statues of Anubis and the crocodile god Sobek, crammed into the armor and uniforms of Roman soldiers. Totally bonkers.

Local legend says the catacombs were discovered in 1900 by a donkey falling in a hole.

Nearby in Alexandria, a giant pile of rubble stood until 1960, just taking up space. When the archeologists started digging, they found a whole Roman neighborhood - including an amphitheater, public baths and a couple of Roman villas.

First, he obviously has no clue about gender theory.

Second, nothing forces us backward quite like the Vatican, which still considers women to be animated flowerpots into which men sprinkle their seed.

The Grand Poohbah of Misogyny needs to shut the fuck up and listen to women for a few years before he manages to anything in our favor, and I'm talking about non Catholic women who won't fawn over his hat.

And yes, it would be better all over the planet if the Vatican suddenly went "poof."

Demanding that he change the church overnight...

The consummate politician and adoring sycophants: first it was: "Just wait and see, he's gonna change everything!"

And now it's "He can't change anything because they won't let him!" or "He can't go against church doctrine!"
