What was the world like at the time to make people want to live hundreds of feet below the surface. It must have taken generations to build something so elaborate. Not for the faint of heart or those looking for a quick and easy solution to their need for housing.

since 1500 BC.

It's overwhelming, and it reminds us to never assume people so lived so very long ago were ignorant and primitive.

Now we've got a name to remember for future discoveries. So cool. Thank you.
