Archaeologists made a spine-chilling revelation after evidence of the bloodiest decapitation and head-hunting spree in Neolithic Asian history emerges from China, dating back a staggering 4,100 years.

The discovery of 41 skeletons sent shockwaves through the archaeological community and what makes this grisly find even more disturbing is that all the remains belong to women and children.

Adding to the horror, four skulls belonging to men were recovered from a pit just outside the house where the massacre occurred, alongside cultural artefacts such as pottery and bone-rock tools.

The study, published in the journal Archaeological and Anthropological Sciences, sheds light on the gruesome events that unfolded at the site. Using visual inspections and advanced imaging techniques, researchers meticulously examined the remains for signs of decapitation.
