Ancient human remains were discovered in Lovelock Cave in Nevada, USA. However, certain skeletons reach a massive height of ten feet. Not only are they gigantic, but some of these bodies, believed to be mummies, also had distinctive red hair.
This finding has reignited an age-old belief suggesting that a forgotten group of people once ruled the southwestern part of America.
Based on Paiute beliefs, an ancient tribe in Nevada, theres a tale of red-haired giants known as the Si-Te-Cah, who settled in the Americas from a faraway island thousands of years ago.
Legend has it that these giants sailed across the ocean on reed rafts, earning a reputation for their extraordinary height, strength, and cruelty compared to the average person.
In 1911, miners searching for bat guano, an essential fertilizer ingredient, stumbled upon peculiar items in a cave close to Lovelock, Nevada. This discovery led to two official excavations, one in 1912 and another in 1924, unearthing thousands of artifacts.

It might otherwise contradict church teachings about origins.

(68,439 posts)There are Evangelicals who place a lot of feverish belief in a mistranslation from Genesis that reads: "There were giants in the Earth in those days."
The mistranslation changes the meaning of the phrase "There were important people in the Earth in those days." That translation is supported by the fact that it precedes a long list of the Genesis patriarchs.
Every once in a while, a hoax photograph will surface online purporting to show the skeletons of Biblical era giants. And the evilgelicals point to that and crow about how they're right to believe a literal interpretation of the Bible. Even a mistranslated one, evidently.

(392 posts)With the Nephilim who were the progeny of the Sons of God who mated with human women. They were purported to be large in stature.
Its interesting because there was a flood when, presumably, all were killed except for Noahs family. Later, when Joshua fought multiple wars for Moses, he met the Nephilim.
Numbers 13:33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight. Anak was considered to be descended from the Nephilim.
If Noah and his family were the only survivors of the flood and the Nephilim were later encountered, that seems to mean that either Noah was Nephilim or the Sons of God came down again after the flood and mated with human women. I emailed Focus on the Family and asked them that, if that was true, were the Sons of God still coming down and mating with our women? They blocked me. 😀

(2,067 posts)watched a few documentaries on it. Apparently the giants were cannibals and preyed on the natives there.

Si-Te-Cah
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
According to reports of Northern Paiute oral history, the Si-Te-Cah, Saiduka or Sai'i[1] (sometimes erroneously referred to as Say-do-carah or Saiekare[2] after a term said to be used by the Si-Te-Cah to refer to another group) were a legendary tribe who the Northern Paiutes fought a war with and eventually wiped out or drove away from the area, with the final battle having taken place at what is now known as Lovelock Cave near Lovelock, Nevada, United States. They had red hair, and are often (though not always) described as having been cannibals. In some versions of the legend they were giants. In 1911, a large amount of artifacts and mummified human remains were discovered under three to six feet of guano by guano miners in Lovelock Cave.[3]
Although the cave had been mined since 1911, miners did not notify authorities until 1912. The miners destroyed many of the artifacts, but archaeologists were still able to retrieve 10,000 Northern Paiute artifacts from the cave. Items included tule duck decoys, nets, a pair of sandals, and baskets, several dating back over 2,000 years.[4]

(28,966 posts)And they were found in Nevada? Sounds like complete conjecture, based on absolutely nothing. There were tall people in Nevada 3000 years ago. That's literally all we know. And as others have asked - why has no one done a DNA analysis of this "giant"? The skeleton could be 100% Paiute, but with a genetic anomaly towards giantism.

(9,688 posts)I don't see a Snopes article after all. There is this: https://www.historyen.com/lovelock-cave-a-tale-of-giants-or-a-giant-tale-of-fiction/
And this...
"Colorful tales of the American West dont fade away easily, even when they seem to have been discounted. Take, for example, the story of legendary red-haired cannibal giants whose alleged existence in the Lovelock area centuries ago has been debated for more than 100 years.....
"Adrienne Mayor wrote about the Si-Te-Cah in her book, Legends of the First Americans. She suggested that the giant interpretation of the skeletons from Lovelock Cave and other caves in Nevada was started by entrepreneurs setting up tourist displays. She also noted that hair pigment is not stable after death and that various factors such as temperature and soil conditions can turn very dark hair rusty red or orange.".

wikipedia said it pretty much exactly like I was going to write. black fur and hair turns red with time (likewise red or brown turns blond), and 10 feet tall mummies are damn suspect.
Think. Again.
