cats paw nebula

3 versions of the cats paw and lobster nebulas. i used the telescope.live remote scope for the data and processed it 3 different ways

the image was taken with 3 different filter. Hydrogen alpha,sulfur II amd Oxygen III. each filter only lets in a narrow band of light based on the common gases in the nebula.

First up is called the HOO palette
it has the hydrogen alpha assigned to red,and oxygen to both green and blue. H alpha is the strongest signal and is a very red frequency hence the red.



Next up is the SHO pallete. this is commonly used by the hubble telescope.
Sulfur is assigned to the red channel,hydrogen alpha to green and oxygen to blue.


last is the SHO pallete except the green tint has been reduced
