The Secret Power of Brainwaves.

I'm beginning to discover a whole new spiritualist/healing community including some high rolling profiteers, all promoting the benefits of 'harnessing' ones brainwaves. This seems like the only group I've been to that has the maturity to discuss the implications of believing you can do it ALL...by yourself.

And I really do mean it all. Health, wealth and whatever else you seek simply by controlling your brainwaves. I realize that controlling ones own thoughts is difficult enough, but being able to make all your difficulties disappear simply by knowing how to tap into their source, could be too difficult, so luckily there is a scientific device to make the job easier. It's called a bio-feedback machine.

If you're interested google "bio-feedback".

Here's an overview of brainwaves and the ones worth pursuing.....

Some well known "religions" have also tapped into this "science", so once again the common man has been left behind.

...then this topic shouldn't be out of place in this forum.

Many of us spend our lives trying to reconcile our Spiritual Angst and are always ready to listen to the latest pitch promising salvation. We stand apart from the absolutists who appear to have stopped looking, while we stand in awe of the latest revelation that expands our consciousness.

Living in a consumerist culture like our own, success is defined by ones ability to fit into the prescribed boxes. Living 'outside the box' is risky and uncomfortable but it is more satisfying than doing nothing in a spiritual haze.

We go to work, exploit others, work our way to more wealth and thank god for his blessings. And if we have any soul at all, the "angst" we feel for this life is enough to start us 'seeking a Unique Path'.

Back in the late 60's or early 1970, I encountered a scientologist passing out leaflets in front of their Los Angeles headquarters. Never one to pass up an opportunity to "expand my consciousness'', I followed him upstairs for a more intense pitch. During this conversation, he mentioned a device that they used at the higher levels, that would 'ensure peace of mind'. Even in their earlier days, this church had their trade secrets so further queries about this device were deflected.

I didn't sign up but I have always enjoyed their global spectacles and I have looked more closely at bio-feedback and the machines used to measure brain waves. The more I looked outside for spiritual truths the more I was drawn to my own consciousness for 'truths'. That got me to brain waves and how to use them.
