(96,520 posts)not only failed to condemn what happened on October 7, but justified it by blaming the victims, and it was done it not so subtle ways, by questioning the authenticity of the rapes, tortures, and killings that occurred on that terrible day, along with the venom hate, and cheers spewed by some professors at very prestigious Universities, instead of actual condemnation of what happened.

(9,352 posts). . . especially to see some on the progressive left side with Hamas and Hezbollah. I worry about how this is affecting and might affect the coming election. I know many Jewish friends and family that are on the edge of bailing on our party.

(7,598 posts)Ive been astonished at the gulf of knowledge I grew up in Saudi Arabia, so Im well aware of both sides.
I was forced to watch my first beheading at eight. I watched a friend be seized by mullahs for laughing in public his head was brutally shaved with a knife.
The students at the university were friendly enough but the culture was utterly cruel. Ive heard it presented as congenial, but it was not.
My father was an anti-Semite and unconcerned but I was horrified by parts of the experience. Im not excusing Israels actions, but the lack of understanding by ignorant Americans is startling.
These people should spend a few months there.
