74 Percent of Jewish Voters View Trump, MAGA as 'Threat to Jews in America,' Poll Finds

WASHINGTON—Three out of four Jewish Americans voted for Democrats in the U.S. midterm elections, significantly motivated by rising antisemitism and extremism fostered by former president Donald Trump’s influence on the Republican Party.

Jews backed Democrats over Republicans by a 74-25 margin, according to a GBAO Election Night poll commissioned by J Street, with 55 percent of voters citing “the state of democracy” as their top issue while 40 percent cited abortion.

To this end, Jewish voters continue to overwhelmingly support U.S. President Joe Biden despite national polarization and low approval ratings. 70 percent of Jews approve of Biden, compared to the 42-percent approval among the general population.

These concerns over democracy and antisemitism were captured in voters’ sentiments toward the American Israel Public Affairs Committee as well. Seventy-two percent of Jewish voters said they disapproved of AIPAC’s decision to endorse more than 100 Republicans who refused to certify the 2020 presidential election results.

1. 2015

I worked in an OR back then and it was common for the orthopedic
and neurosurgeons to blab during surgery on who they supported.
Anesthesiologists too. Several of these docs were of Jewish heritage.
They all gave me such shit when they heard I went to NYC/Occupy for
a week back in 2011. Nearly ALL of these doctors voted for tRump
back then and did so repeatedly for the 2020 election. I just
could not understand. And we are talking suburb of Boston.
They all voted for wallet over the well-being of humanity.

2. All the Jewish doctors I know hate maga. But, I live in Chicago I am a nurse

so I know a lot of doctors who were dumbfounded and furious when trump won in 2015.

3. I remember a conversation

With one neurosurgeon after attending Occupy. He says to me as we are
wheeling the patient to the OR " I'm so happy you're in my room today,
I'm going to give you so much shit."

I didn't usually speak up ( Thankfully patient had versed/fentanyl so was
in a haze ) But I did so quietly. I asked him if he knew what Corporate
Personhood was- He said No.

I asked him if he knew about Citizens United, again he replies No.
So I told him, "You go look those things up- and then we can talk"
Then winked at him.

He did not bring up anything political that day.
