"Echoes From Odessa, the Onetime Jewish Metropolis Now Menaced by Putin"..(subscribe)

I follow this writer, & received this in my email.
I would love to read the entire story of this history, but it requires a subscription to do so.
The subscription is to The Atlantic, I think, & it costs $69.

If anyone has a subscription this is just a heads up to please read the story.
There is such precious history being told.

Here's as much as I can give for now.

Imagine if there had never been a Hitler or Stalin or Putin.

Just reading the intro to this story, I can imagine the happy people. Their music, food, respect, reverence & their collective Love.

This is the area my father's family originated. There is little known where they were scattered until they moved to the US, via Canada, pre WW2. Some later returned to fight Hitler.
The stories are scant & patched together, so reading this piece in the Atlantic is quite a treasure.
