It will be interesting to see how this is discussed after it concludes. Will it be ignored once no longer "breaking news"? Will the focus be on anti-Semitism, or will it (more likely) steer into conversations about everything else but anti-Semitism?

This is due to the fact that anti-Semitism is a cause that the far left and the far right have in common.

One of the people who has been held hostage for hours inside a Texas synagogue has been released, according to local police.

Sgt. Dara Nelson with the Colleyville Police Department says the man was released uninjured around 6 p.m. ET.

“FBI Crisis Negotiators continue contact with the subject,” Nelson added.

Investigators believe three hostages are still being held inside Congregation Beth Israel.

15. I am currently listening to "Our Only Crime was Being Jewish" on Audible.

It is a 17hr. book (at 1.25speed) and is nothing but accounts of Holocaust survivors and witnesses. The number of remarks about how the populace and, as you point out, the LEO community turned quickly against the Jews and others, of course; it has to be mentioned lest someone body feel the need to remind me and other Jews, that others died in the Holocaust.

It is hard to fathom how this is the fucking second decade of the 21st century and we are still battling over shit that should have been settled YEARS ago! Voting rights?! WHAT THE FUCK?! Why is that even controversial?! Can't get the Ambassador against anti-Semitism appointed because the fee-fees of republicans are hurt? Seriously?! Women can't get health care and control their own bodies? WHY?! Minorities, of all stripes, are scared, and afraid for their personal safety and individual rights, meanwhile republicans are screeching about "demorats" coming for everyone's guns and crosses off their walls! I would say "Seriously?" but, sadly, this is so damned commonplace now. I am one who has always tried to make sure there was a line in the sand regarding "hate crimes" because calling everything a hate crime waters it down, but given what we now know, anti-Semitism was a motivating factor, and if it wasn't, then I will demand proof.

Frankly, I think there are some who are disappointed it wasn't a MAGAt, or other white supremacist, and that Jews actually survived, another reason this will be claimed to not be a "real" anti-Semitic hate crime. Jews taken hostage by someone who isn't a white supremacist? YAWN.
