(Jewish Group) Austin leaders rally behind Jewish community after 3 anti-Semitic weekend incidents
Community leaders are rallying behind the Austin area's Jewish residents following three anti-Semitic incidents that occurred over the weekend, including the gathering of about a dozen people who displayed a hateful banner from an overpass Saturday on North MoPac Boulevard.
The Anti-Defamation League in Austin, the local chapter of a national nonprofit group focused on responding to complaints of discrimination, racism and anti-Semitism, explained that the Far West Boulevard overpass, where the extremist group stood to display the banner, is in an area that's home to many of the city's Jewish residents.
Renee Lafair, regional director for ADL Austin, said that her organization is currently tracking the group as they plan to target other Jewish communities throughout Texas.

On Saturday, a few members from the same hate group also traveled to East Sixth Street to display similar anti-Semitic posters. Those members also approached Black and Hispanic people, making statements about the Jewish community that were untrue, according to the ADL.
