Has anyone here read anything by John D. Caputo?

I was visiting a friend in Chicago last week, and sat in on a class he's auditing at Chicago Theological Seminary. The assigned reading was a book by John D. Caputo. Much discussion of his idea of "religionless religion". Apparently influenced by Derrida'. I'm going to do more reading, but wondered whether anyone here is familiar.

I'm familiar with Derrida, but not Caputo n/t Betty Karlson Dec 2011 #1
I hadn't been either. Curious. I run in circles where such ideas are regularly discussed. Critters2 Dec 2011 #2
Did you do any more reading? xmas74 Jan 2012 #3

I'm sure if I asked about him at an American Academy of Religion or Colloquium on Violence and Religion meeting, friends would fill me in. Just surprised to never have happened up on him.

I was also surprised that the course included no discussion or readings from Girard. Though friends tell me he still isn't getting much of a hearing on progressive seminary campuses.

What did you think?

I'm not all that familiar with him but would be interested in learning a bit more.
