Benedict XVI stated that he's on his final pilgrimage
As the 5th anniversary of his resignation approaches Benedict XVI made an announcement;
The former Pope, Benedict XVI has hinted that he is nearing the end of his life and is ready for what he described as his final "pilgrimage".
Joseph Ratzinger made the comments in a letter written for the Italian daily newspaper, Corriere della Sera.
The Pope emeritus said: "In the slow decline of my physical strength, internally, I am on a pilgrimage to the House of the Lord."
The former pope, who will turn 91 in April, said he was moved that so many of the papers readers wanted to know how this last period of his life was going.
Sometimes people know when their end is coming. I remember my Grandma knew that she wouldn't live long enough to attend my cousin's wedding and told my cousin that when she told Grandma about getting married. My uncle's mother was saying a few days before she passed that she was finally going home. I wouldn't be surprised now if Benedict leaves us in the not too distant future.
