Some here know. Husband of 46+ years reposed in 2019 of cardiac arrest. This year is the worst. From like February. I feel imprisioned and can't break free. I don't like overly psyche explanations, but I read online:
perhaps delayed/complicated/unresolved grief. Plus something physical. Doc visit last Thursday. Not COVID, not really another UTI (but at-home test showed 'yes'), not strep. I'm more short of breath than usual. Mild COVID in '21 left me w/AFib. This worse feeling of combined whatever started almost 2 months ago. I was pretty good before that. Of course, the political climate we're experiencing just exacerbates my condition. Trying to watch my thoughts and my words. I want to curse nearly all. I've been strong natured my whole life, but now I'm feeling way broken.

That's so much for one person to handle. I'm glad you posted so that your DU family could let you know that they care.

When Im stressed and scared, I take a mental journey to Waimea bay. Swimming in the clear aqua waters of summertime Waimea Bay, chasing the opelu ball of little fishes around the bay (they swim around me too,) sometimes soaring with the honu (sea turtles,) till I'm out past the catamaran and - a smallish spectacularly beautiful air bubble rises from beneath me.!

I look down and see a big bubble, maybe half the size of my head, rise up right in front of my face.

Slowly the dolphins come into focus! I hadn't seen them before.

There were about 20 of them, looking at me under water, as I look at them in wonder. The ones in front of me were in a vertical position with eyes at my eye level.

They blew the bubbles to get my attention. I was getting pretty far out of the bay and they stopped me this way.

True story, very true. Tonight I will dream of being out there with them, and with you!

Clear sailing dear. Aloha kaua.

It might be time for some gentle supplement to calm things. Like ashwagandha, which controls the stress hormone cortisol. Or magnesium, which calms the heart muscle.
