One of my major donors gave me a little reading today.
I'm a not-for-profit fundraising executive. Right now one of my projects is working with a volunteer group which includes folks who might be interested in board service. We're planning a big fundraiser. (BTW - I could talk forever about fundraising if anyone is ever interested.)
Anyway, the volunteer chair of this group has been a major donor for many years. It's been wonderful getting to know her. She's actually published books on astrology and has been doing readings for years. She is far more knowledgeable than I, but very much enjoys that I have enough background to follow her when she talks astrology shop.
After a meeting with the group today she asked me if we could meet privately. She had some news for me about the path of Mars and its impact on my career path. She was worried that I would take a new job in April, and shes afraid what would happen to our organization if I go.
I assured her that if I ever were to leave I would have an exit strategy so that our organization would be fine. But I was thinking, Rock on! I cant wait to get the fuck out of here.
There are actually so many wonderful things about my job and the organization I serve. The community of donors and patrons is wonderful. Our work is good. But the office is pure psychological poison. Its a daily struggle and if I escape without a major illness, I will be so grateful.

(15,812 posts)Take care and clear your auric fields so all that stress doesn't have a portal into your body! Maybe one of your patrons or donors will offer you a job! Good non-profits are a great way to network. I worked for a non-profit for a major part of my career. I'm not much of a networking type person though. Obviously I was not the director of development.
