This has been the worst week for travel and communication!
At work, a woman calls for a meeting on Monday at 10am and never shows up. I call her and something had come up so she asks to reschedule for Wednesday, I say yes but then have to take another meeting on Wednesday so I ask if we can cancel and touch base on Monday to set something up for next week. She says yes, and then shows up on Thursday saying she had me in her book.
Today I had a meeting off site. I copied and pasted the address into google maps and printed the directions, but somehow, even though I copied and pasted, the street was wrong so we went to the wrong house. No one was home. I call the woman. Its a disconnected number. I come back to the office. She asks where I am and I tell her I was just there. We discover I went to the wrong address. I check her number and I had written it down wrong. I tell her I am really embarrassed she says Oh dont worry save your embarrassment for something really big.
Then I get back to the office and have to send an email to our 14,000 subscribers. I lay it out, proof it, decide I want to change one picture, proof it again and send it. Somehow, when I changed the picture, I cut off the date of the event I was promoting so I get all there emails saying ummm
date? So I resend the email with the date which makes me feel like a real winner.
My bus has been over half an hour late three times this week.
I started off today day by falling down my back steps, so Ive been limping around all day.
DH is picking me up from work shortly. I hope hes not late because I am seriously done for the day.

(2,649 posts)Went retro on Monday the 12th, and as I understand it, the effects are particularly wacky in the first few days of retro, so that could explain the miscommunications, etc.

(23,423 posts)Went on a college tour trek with my daughter, and while I treasured spending time with her, it was beyond stressful. Every step of the way. We even had a huge blowup but talked it out.
It all culminated with me going three hours out of the way to get home in order to drive by another college on her list to get a feel for the area, only to discover the college wasn't even there -- it was on the other end of the state. Followed by GPS (my first encounter with it, btw), taking us home via country roads. It was dark (I hate to drive in the dark); on unfamiliar, very isolated roads (hate that); and both of our cell phones had died.
But, we made it safely, so I'm grateful. Still, a VERY, VERY stressful week.

obvious fact, that it is one big pain in the posterior.

(136,048 posts)Traveling from DC area w daughter + her beau to Iowa, to visit my 98 year-old Dad and my brother's family, I made reservations, long story short Delta ended up w daughter + flying from Detroit to Iowa on DIFFERENT FLIGHT from mine even tho we left Balto on same flight and I'd booked us on same flight and even chose all of our seats!
Only learned this at departing gate in Balto when comparing our next boarding passes. Their connecting flight was to depart DTW 3 hours after mine, so I'd arrive in Iowa (actually Moline, IL) and sit around (in my rented car?) for 3 hours! Though daughter didn't want to 'fuss' about this, I was determined to do whatever could reasonably be done. Even tho there was only 15 minutes remaining before departure remaining, it worked out, they had plenty seats for the 2, and transaction was done smoothly.
SO, I'd planned to visit high school classsmates in Denver after leaving Iowa Sunday, haven't seen them for many years and very close friends, and learned TODAY one of friend's mothers near death, in California, so my Denver trip would have to be seriously curtailed. I've decided to postpone Denver to some unknown future date. Brother to help me readjust travel plans.
SO, tho these details not SERIOUSLY adverse for me, I definitely feel kind of off balance. (And my actual physical balance sense not doing so well either.)
SO, off to dinner w brother, sister in law, her sister, and Dad shortly.
Thanks for 'listening!'
