Reincarnation within the family, how often does it happen?
I was just curious to find out if any of you believe you have a family member with you
for the second time around and if so, what leads you to that conclusion. Is it a feeling, a knowing or something else?
Maybe all you have is a hunch...all the same, I would love to hear your story.
You can include other loved ones or close relationships.

I recall reading an account by Robert Monroe how he had sought out the person of his next incarnation, and then stopped pursuing. I think he didn't want to get attached. In his case the next of his lives on this Earth was concurrent or overlapping with his life as Robert Monroe. But, they weren't related.
I also wonder about this, what with my belief that I've had a non-human existence at some point, too. I know none of my current family share this belief or understanding, so I do think about how that connection fits in with this concept of being other family members in other lives...
Digit
(6,163 posts)I'm not very good at sensing these things either...wish I was. I'm going to do some more reading at the very least and try to learn
more about the concurrent possibly.
Wish I could afford some age regression therapy, but it is not feasible right now.
kentauros
(29,414 posts)discussed that. It may have even been in one of his newsletters, so I don't know if that information is available now. Nor do I know how many people hold that belief of concurrent lives.
However, if it helps to understand it, I see it as being associated with Simultaneous Time. Stop thinking in linear time only, and you can come to better terms with the concept of concurrent lives

(5,510 posts)in it, I experienced a life during the Civil War. I lived in the South & was about 6 yrs old. My current husband was then my older brother who was going off to war in his Confederate uniform. He bent down & was telling me good bye. It was my sense that he did not make it back. Interesting that we have more of a sibling, or equal, relationship in this lifetime. When I first spent much time w/him, I felt like I'd known him for millions of years. We joke that we have been together "forever". LOL Perhaps we have!
Have always felt that my mother in this lifetime was my daughter in a past life, because I have had to mother her so much in this one. Just a feeling.
Digit
(6,163 posts)Does your husband "feel" the Civil War connection as well or is it more a feeling he has known you forever?
Wow, love it.
southerncrone
(5,510 posts)He is definitely ALL Southern, tho. LOL
He does however feel the "known me forever" connection.

(4,484 posts)I feel that my daughter has been my sister before, as I often almost call her by my sister's name, or almost say, "my sister" when I mean my daughter. This has always happened. I also just have that vibe with her, especially now that she is older. Don't get me wrong, I never related to her as a "best friend" --I was definitely her mother--or anything like that, it was just a feeling I had.
Now this daughter has had a child, still an infant, and I do wonder if she could be my grandmother. She has the same name, a derivative of it, and the same moon sign as my grandmother, and she and I just do really well together. It's hard to explain, but she's always just relaxed and happy with me, as if she just feels at home with me. There is a certain expression on her face that really reminds me of my grandmother as well. Also, I have read that many reincarnations come about every 100 years, and this would be 102 years apart.
Who knows?
Digit
(6,163 posts)I am not asking what those issues are, if there are, or WHOSE they are.
I guess I am wondering if that is why we come back in the same groups....to work on "stuff".
Flying Dream Blues
(4,484 posts)0f the same soul group, and that we reincarnate with many of the same souls who then agree to have certain relationships with each other. I think these relationships can be different each time, say from sister to mother to daughter to friend. I think each person/soul decides on the issues they will face as part of their soul contract, and others agree to be part of those scenarios as well.
So, for example, I believe my kids have agreed to be part of my scenario but have also agreed to work on things that don't have anything to do with me. And likewise, I agreed to be a part of things that don't involve them. It's really interesting how the whole thing makes a beautiful, interconnected mosaic.

(5,510 posts)Ever since my son was born, I call him my brother's name & call my brother his name. Whenever I visit brother, or he visits me, this happens. It will continue on for days after we leave one another. This has become another family joke. I can only imagine that they may have had each other's names in another lifetime w/me. Sometimes I call my son the brother's name even when he isn't around.
I have never done this w/anyone else.
Flying Dream Blues
(4,484 posts)And I've never done it with anyone else, either. Cool, huh?

(5,510 posts)But it is cool that we have the same situation.
I wonder how common this is?
Digit
(6,163 posts)I mean, the two of you doing the same thing leads me to believe it is not as uncommon as one would have thought.
It is cool, and it makes me think reincarnation is behind it.

(34,950 posts)when she would talk about her sister she'd refer to her with MY name. when she'd talk to her sister about me she would refer to me with her sister's name.
it was funny because it happened so frequently and became predictible. she didn't mean to do it--and she'd apologize for doing it and sometimes she'd get mad at herself that she couldn't keep our names straight. and my name sounds nothing like her sister's name.
i know that my mom and i go back a long way. before this life. inbetween lives. the answer to "where have i known you before" is clear when it comes to my mother (daughter & grandmother too)--i have known them always.
i'm sure there are many people i have always known--but because the relationships in this life are so close it is easy to tell (or feel that way).

(23,156 posts)we all belong to "soul groups" and that we tend to reincarnate together, filling different roles: parent, child, sibling, spouse, best friend. People do not seem to come back into totally random situations, but come here with specific purposes in mind, with particular issues to work out or lessons to learn.
It strikes me as less common that someone comes back into the same family (deceased grandparent comes back as grandchild) but ir does seem to happen. Read the Carol Bowman book, "Return From Heaven" which is all about people reincarnating back into the same family.

(6,163 posts)The reviews were very interesting and don't miss any comments under posts.
The book "Return From Heaven" evidently talks about miscarriages and abortions made me
think back to the baby I lost.
I will see if the library has it.
Thanks!

I remembered about 20 years ago..... Whats really wierd in the main lifetimes (2) we were sent back to work on I mustve been born in the spring because sometimes they try to celebrate my birthday in the spring. LOL! I was born August 4th this time around.
I also know I will be a parent to at least Two of my current family members next time we are together. My Dad and My middle brother that passed.sigh
Lottsa healing needs to happen there! But it will take a long while in this plane before that materialises.....Some very heavey duty healing needs to happen for both of them on a deep soul level on the other side first.

But I thought it was very interesting..

(6,163 posts)In reading the reviews on Amazon for the book Sheila suggested, "Return From Heaven", they spoke quite a bit
about children we had lost. I lost one when I was five months along when it suddenly died inside of me. It was odd at the time because I "knew" the instant he died and felt the loss in connection. I have no idea if this has to do with anything. That was over 30 years ago.
Anyway, my daughter and her family live over an hour from me. My grandson who just turned two has this odd thing for me. I am told he calls my name for days at a time when I am not there. While visiting last time we were all in a grocery store and again, my grandson kept calling my name. I would respond of course but it was difficult with the shopping cart to walk beside his seat. At first I thought my SIL and daughter were just trying to make me feel good, but this child actually calls for me frequently. Why not the other grandma or grandfather? Don't get me wrong, I love the attention and the fact that he loves me so much. The feeling is mutual as I love him to pieces.
When I am visiting and he gets up from a nap, he wants to come to me to snuggle and wake up instead of his mother.
Have I mentioned how much I love this child?
I wish I knew the connection. He is an adorable little Pisces.
Perhaps I can request to be shown in a dream.

(998 posts)who is the love of my life. He is now nineteen but we had wonderful four and a half years together when I was his caregiver. What I learned (from him and other Piscean children) is that they are incredibly psychically connected and have a sort of uncanny intuitiveness. Piscean kids seem to know things about people way beyond their years and are attuned to things in the environment that elude most people. I noticed that my grandson seemed to lose this as he got older although as with many Pisceans he and they retain a sort of radiance and sweetness.
Digit
(6,163 posts)Well, "sweet" could be his middle name. Being older now, I don't get much interaction with very young children so my grandson is a real treat.
I really need to get out more!

(8,423 posts)The only thing that haunts me about that, is one time many years ago on a college campus in my home town, I was in some kind of room in an old building that had red carpet and such, and I had the distinct feeling I was very familiar with the regalness. It makes me wonder... maybe I was very rich...is the balancing act (lesson learned) my financial struggle at the moment?
