Dreaming about Dragons

Last edited Tue Jan 3, 2012, 09:50 PM - Edit history (2)

Since I'm here and have a minute, I hope you don't mind if I share some dreams.

Dream One:

I am in a food court on the top floor of a 10-story mall with my entire family. We are aware that a dragon is going from floor to floor scorching and eating all the people, but we sit and eat our meals and do nothing. After some time, aware that the dragon is approaching our floor, I say, “Maybe we should see if there’s any way to secure this floor and save ourselves." My brother-in-law and I see that there are some doors, but the locks are improperly installed. Then we discover that there is a giant sturdy curtain – the kind often used in large school gymnasiums to create smaller sections. We are able to secure a section of the food court. We hope the dragon will not attempt to breach the curtain. We continue eating. I wake up before the dragon arrives at our floor. I wake up feeling that all the people who were killed by the dragon are all the people in the world who suffer because of American consumerism. I wake with the distinct impression that the dragon is built by our participation in consumerism. I don’t actually know what dragons represent. I just have this strong feeling.

Dream Two:

My son is a baby in his crib. He is crying. I go to him and scream because I see he had a second pair of arms and hands. I realize he has these extra limbs because he is being possessed by a demon. I bring him to our bed. The extra limbs are not visible to my husband. He doesn’t believe me when I tell him our son is in peril. Then my son sings a song that is well beyond his age and my husband believes me and is terrified. I look at my son and see the demon inside him – a green dragon with red eyes. I forcefully tell the demon to go away. I keep saying “Go away!” until the dragon/demon leaves my son’s body. My husband wakes me up because I am hissing “Go away” in my sleep.

Dream Three:

I am walking through a swamp across fallen trees and stepping stones. I jump onto a grey stone and realize that I am actually standing on a partially submerged dragon. It looks pretty much like a huge alligator, but I know it’s a dragon. I realize I have to jump off of it onto the dry land and run fast enough that it is unable to snatch me, as it will surely leap out after me the moment I jump. I jump and run. It leaps and pursues. I wake up.

What’s up?

I can't find any site up yet that specifically talks about the year of the dragon and its influences vs talking about people born under the year of the dragon.
However I'm guessing that will change in a couple of weeks.

Maybe you are picking up on some of the Social/political upheavals that will come in the year of the Dragon.
But you and your loved ones will be alright.
It does sound to me like alot of growth and change in thoughts, emotions, In the first dream you and your family were eating, a very pleasant but everyday thing that nutures the self.So I would interpet that as a positive.
perhaps by years end time you will have a whole new thought process about life, the mudane to the spiritual.
Also that third dream You were on a path that literally was a Dragon.
The dragons really cool rbnyc you should google his powers and gifts because I think he's talking to you. ....In a good way.

Even the dream where I saw the dragon as a demon posessing my child - he endowed my child with extra hands and the ability to sing songs of wisdom. All the fear was mine.

I often have lucid dreams. Maybe next time I will be able to choose not to respond in fear.

Thanks!

(BTW, my son and I are both monkeys.)

My son is wood.

Most of my natal chart is air and water - Libra, Pisces, Scorpio (But I have 3 planets in Virgo too.) My sun is Libra, my Moon is Pisces and so is my rising. My earthy monkey proabably does me a lot of good.

I just went and read about Earth Pig. I'd be proud to be your friend.

Notorious for ushering in transformation, or, at least, building on the transformations brought about by the Year of the Rabbit.

FWIW, I think the theme of all these dreams is change. Possibly of the abrubt variety. And there is some obvious fear of those changes, especially for how they could affect your family, the society you live in, etc.

No need. Dragons are fun. Think POWER. As 2012 is a year of the Water Dragon, we will have brash power mongering balanced by er, emotional power mongering.

I really wouldn't worry about these dreams. They seem like normal anxiety dreams and will probably resolve themselves when you've incorporated whatever changes you need to incorporate into your life.

I clearly have anxiety issues. I also have a pretty decent sense of humor so I will probably be okay.

I actually should get along pretty well with water dragons. Maybe I should try to make friends.

way, you'll be just fine; that somehow, you're protected from horrifically frightening forces. Dragons incinerating and eating the people in the mall, your baby being possessed and you being the only one being able to see the extra arms and hands at first and finally your swamp journey. Frankly, I think this dream is telling you that financially, healthwise and personally, you and your family will be okay in the perilous times coming up. Dragons or reptiles period, usually repulse most humans unless they're on a pair of boots, a belt or an expensive purse.
From the dawn of time, there has been a conflict between reptiles and humans. think Adam and Eve and the serpent. There's something coming and I believe that whatever it is, you'll pull through just fine, (you and yours). I'm no astrologer but I know there's something called the dragon's head and tail and I wonder if were due to pass through either one of these soon. Maybe the one's in the know can tell us.
Whatever happens, you'll be okay.

When I was a child, my pets were snakes, lizards and frogs. I've always loved snakes.

I don't like being afraid of the dragon.

But what you say is true. In each dream, I had what I needed to be okay.

Funny how it comes down to : "The only thing to fear is fear itself."

BTW, have you seen the film Forks OVer Knives?

can I post a link to this thread in the *Visionary Intuition and Dreaming* Thread? i am trying to help us stay consolidated somewhat, and would like to continue to encourage dreams posted there...

thanks!

BTW; I also agree that it could be a portend to the Year of the dragon and that we have been taught as westerners to fear the noble dragon, however in eastern lore, they are really heavenly beings... so goo that you can move past the fear...
