In keeping with our tradition of Bday threads, I thought I'd start this one for my sweet 'spirit-twin'...miss Morning Glow!
Poem: Lessons from a Dragonfly
A dragonfly accepts its brevity of life
With its gossamer wings feeling the breeze
Full of freedom it watches our joy and our strife
Its wisdom learned flitting from water to air to trees
With wings that shimmer showing purpose and duty
Obedient to all of lifes changes in flight
Modestly it shows us its outer beauty
Always gracious, mindful and full of delight
So whether what life gives you is good, bad, or sad
Show others that inner beauty counts and matters
Make your actions amount to many smiles and be glad
For the dragonfly knows it lives a brief life this way
So I learn from this creature to live wisely each day
And make every minute special to those that you love
As the dragonfly watches our actions from above
~Ruth O'Neill
note: A dragonfly can spend up to several years underwater until it is strong enough to surface, shed its skin and evolve into this beautiful creature. Then it flies free among us but only for a very brief period of up to 2 months before it dies.
So I guess your cycle to watch for things coming to fruition has to do with that 2 month timeframe...?
Have a wonderful Year, hunny!
oh, and BTW, that picture looks like it is for sale, cool original art...

Life seems a little too quiet today. Perhaps it is just taking some people a little more time to get into the swing of a work routine after the holidays. Be patient and your day will eventually return to a pattern or routine that you like. Your mind, body and attitude are refreshed and ready to achieve. Ambition, practicality and achievement are admirable and what this first day back at work is all about. You yearn for the stimulation of new ideas and may decide to put in a request for some work spot that you would like to experience. You will be pleased to find that a special event is planned for you tonight. A new experience is headed your way. If you don't have your camera with you, take the opportunity to purchase a throw-away one. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

If you are looking for a job, all this week is a positive time to present yourself to a future employer. Get your resume updated and printed professionally whether you are looking or not; it is good to have it on file. Your energy is high! You feel vital--you feel good--you feel in harmony with yourself, the entire world and everybody in it. Others can feel this, so they in turn are drawn to you, making this a successful day for any kind of group endeavor. Best of all, relations with a mate or loved one are at a peak. Any time this month is good for repairs or cleansing of the body. The window-of-time on any sort of healing happens now. Treatments that are medicinal or therapeutic will be very positive now and in the near future.

(15,758 posts)Those seem very accurate to me! (Except for the special event. None o' that, I'm afraid, except for the takeout Thai food--haven't had that in ages--but that's okay.)
As for the upcoming week, it's time for MORE QUERIES to agents. Fingers crossed. I'm getting this novel published, dammit!
Thanks again!

(15,758 posts)Thank SO much, twin! Lovely artwork and wonderful poem AND great dragonfly info. I never knew that they can live underwater, especially for that long. That really spoke to me--I've felt like I've been living underwater, hiding out, taking a break from the world, for a long time too. Hoping it's time to fly free soon--but I do NOT plan on dying after two months!
Here's to 2012 for all of us!

Sorry I missed wishing you a great day earlier. Have been out of sorts of late. Hope you had a great day with oodles of sorts. That's a really peculiar expression. yet to me, sorts = options. Always better to have options though than to wrongly think that there are none.
Will do your solar return if you so desire.
There's no way you could possibly have anything less than an extraordinary year, given how focused you've been on 2012. IMHO
better & better I swear.
great love & appreciation for your spunk, humor, and darling bright eyes
loved your "mischief managed" post on Christmas morn.
It was the funniest moment of the day so thanks. It sustained me.
