What the new moon promises, the full moon delivers
I think of the new moon as the time to plant seeds of intention. Things don't always bloom by the full moon, but it certainly helps get things going. Last month it took place in taurus, so I focussed on wealth and abundance. Shortly after the full moon, I was told to call my supervisor when she returned from a day trip to schedule my training at hospital #2.
This new moon takes place in Gemini at 2:40 est -- in about 15 minutes or so. The focus is on knowledge and wisdom. I'm planning to sit in meditation asking for info, but I think most of my questions are already answered. On a mundane level, at my customer service job we are all failing in quality. I got put on 1st level written warning yesterday. Why -- I asked -- if quality is so critical, did they fire the quality team and not replace them 2 years ago? Fire the "floor walkers" who gave us support last year? Reduce head count so managers and leads are often unavailable to support us? And why did our largest client also replace their experienced, in-house customer support people from their other division over the last year with newbies who don't know any of the processes and procedures?
My answer came last night: because "quality" is a red herring. They have been quietly, steadily downsizing, starting with the witch hunt that enabled them fire 3 people last year for "abusing" the private message system. It's really about money. The client's business is shrinking and they are looking for any cost savings. We have fewer people, but take the same number of calls.
But since Maine is an employment at will state, why the need for the ruse? The answer: so they won't have to pay unemployment. If they can fire with cause, they get out of paying unemployment. So they are setting up everybody who supports my client, and pretty much everybody else (I'm one of the last to go on written warning. others have been on final warning for ages) to be dumped without notice. They are already experimenting with using temps at $8/hour on special projects.
On a personal note, I asked why my dream remains out of reach. Answer: it is too soon. And I realized I am in final preparation stage.

I had a visit with a good astrologer last December. We both agreed: corporate America is not the way to prosperity or job satisfaction anymore. They try to talk like their jobs will be a good deal, but it never works out that way for the employees. They see us as disposable, and it doesn't matter how hard we work, or how long we have served them.
I hope your dream includes finding some way to work for yourself. Best of luck to you!

(2,168 posts)Also, you should not forget about the HOUSE placements of the New Moon and Full Moon (at the Full Moon, Sun and Moon oppose each other in opposing signs / houses) - and here I'm talking about the house placements as they occur in your own natal horoscope, and the life areas associated with them. Sign placements are general to all, but the house placement is specific to your own natal chart. Also, the DEGREE placements, not just which sign(s) but which degrees, is also important, especially if it aspects important or sensitive planets or points in your own natal chart, especially by conjunction or hard aspect (square, opposition, etc...). The planets affected or activated by these hard aspects will exert quite an influence. They say a Full Moon ignites the passions, and can even make men crazy - but this is only true if the particular Full Moon opposition is forming critical conjunctions or hard aspects to important planets or points in one's natal chart. If not, the Full Moon won't be that big of a deal, and you may even sleep through it. These are ways of making the New and Full Moons more specific and personal to one's own natal chart.
Regarding the New and Full Moons, I like the following verses from the Wiccan Rede:
"When ye Lady's Moon is New, blow a kiss to her times two!" - this is making a good wish.
"When the Moon rides at her peak, then your heart's desire seek." - in other words, the Full Moon is when the desire / energy of things comes to fullness and fruition.
In the diet and hygiene practices of yoga, there are what are called the "Ekadashi" days - Ekadashi means ten plus one, or eleven. Eleven days after the New Moon is about three days before the Full Moon, and eleven days after the Full Moon is about three days before the New Moon. Since the New and Full Moons are critical turning points in the monthly lunar cycle, managing one's vital energies at these critical times may be difficult. To purify and balance one's system about three days before the New and Full Moons, the yogi fasts on the Ekadashi or eleventh day of each lunar hemicycle. This purifies and balances out one's vital energies in preparation for the New and Full Moons.
