2. Claudia was meant to be our cat.

Our elderly neighbors found her in a box in their front yard when she was about a year old. There was a blanket in the box, and a little jar with food, labeled, "1/4 cup." The neighbors were quite upset that someone would do that to a pet. They could not keep her, because their old dog hated cats. So, we took her. She was right for us, and had perfect housecat manners.

Bob has died since, but his wife is still alive. I will have to call her and tell her that Claudia passed. She was always so happy that Claudia was a good fit with our family. I do believe that the right pets come to us when they should.

We will see her on the other side.

throwaway that is 2 or 3 yo. She stood out to me on petfinder.com, the hope and intelligence still in her eyes though she was given no attention.

I know I am meant to share my home with her.

I also have three sweet Himalayan's that I rescued from a hoarder. 48 cats in a trailer. I never intended to have three cats, but how could I leave them in those horrid conditions. I agree, they come when we are ready.

Again, so sorry for the loss of your beloved family member.

My dad died in June. Both of my girls got married, the older one just last weekend. I will be 65 next week, an official senior citizen.

But, prayerful that she is frolicking in a far and beautiful meadow, happy to be free of her earthly limitations at last. May you meet again in joy.

That is so hard. I'm sorry for the grief you must feel, even knowing she is no longer in any pain or discomfort.

to you, muriel.

16 years is old for a kitty--you clearly were good kitty parents! They leave a hole in our hearts and lives when they pass on, but they are so much of a gift while we have them with us! Take comfort in knowing you did the best you could for her and that she knew kindness and love while in your care.
