Context
Much of current support for TFG and the republican party is from Christian Nationalists/Dominionists who believe that god wants them to control the seven mountains of influence in the world - education, government, business, media, justice system, family, and media.

This is why TFG continues to be a viable candidate, despite his many failings. He is willing to give them what they want in exchange for making him king.

The founding ideologue of their movement was Rush Muldoony. The following clip is from Bill Moyers interviewing him 1988. I didn't realize that Bill had covered this so far back. It's worth a revisit.

Tm Dunn and Faris Wilks have used their money to create a state that is ruled according to their religious beliefs. I’ve forgotten which one of them belongs to an extremist church where women are required to attend but they cannot speak or participate in any way. Only men have that right. Now that abortion for any reason is impossible in Texas, they’ll buy politicians to outlaw birth control and then finish off public education. Their dream is to close all public schools and turn them into Christian academies that teach their brand of religion, at taxpayer expense of course. Their idea of schools sounds a lot like the Taliban’s madrassas that teach Islam and not much else.

5. Yes, he's really scary - and rich

I first became aware of Dominionism in 2012 when they infiltrated the college department where I worked.

They brought in a strange guy from Abilene Christian as department head - a guy with no credentials for the job. He quickly identified the "suspect" employees, myself included, and started purging the department. Turns out, he ran a Christian staffing company on the side, and replaced the purged people with folks from his agency.

I filed an EEOC against the college. Didn't win, but it mucked up the gears for awhile.

He's still there. I've seen this movement up close and it terrifies me.

He and his wife have done some really deep diving into Wilkes & Dunn and their cohorts, as well as Christian Nationalism.

11. That's a brilliant observation

I've been thinking of what will happen when the different factions realize that they are not in sync with one another. What happens when "Prophet A" says God told him to kill the gays, abortionists, etc., while the other says God told HIM that prison will suffice? Who will determine which version of God order is the true one?

Then there is the money. One of the seven mountain beliefs is that once they control everything, they can suck all the money out of the system "for God's works". I'm sure they will all agree on how that gets distributed! Like current "prosperity" religionists, it probably won't trickle down to the MAGAt level that put them in power.

They're opening Pandora's box of religious conflicts far worse than anything they can imagine.
