Has Your Internal System Slowed Down? Is It Running Short of Capacity? Do a Reset!

Try a Reset, as guillaumeb suggested. Delete all of the old programs that have built up in your system. Clear away old files from your memory drives. Then reboot. Once the system restarts, you'll have a fresh beginning, without all of the junk files and programs that are slowing things down. Your brain and memory systems will be like new again.

Then, don't install the old programs that didn't work. Install some new ones that aren't full of bugs, memory hogging routines, and processes you don't need. It'll be like things are brand new, all over again. Before adding new programs, check the reviews first and avoid those buggy, bloated ones that have caused problems in the past.

Think of it as Linux for the brain. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Fiction's a good thing. It makes us think. But, it's important to recognize the difference between fiction and fact. Evidence-based factual material is stuff you can actually use. Fiction's just entertainment, whether it's Harry Potter or the Bible. While you can sometimes get wisdom from fiction, you can never get facts.

Agree with you on the junk, but the idea of downloading all the stuff I do use was daunting. So I ordered a new computer. This one is 4 years old and behaves oddly at times. Slow. Takes its sweet time waking up. And other nuisances. I figure 4 years for a computer I use every day isn't half bad. Of course, I will vow not to load up the new one with crap. Until I do. And in four more years I will bitch and moan and buy new. At some point in the not too distant future I will be at the point where the one I buy will be the last one. That's a bit creepy. Getting old sucks.

I've been loading less and less crap onto it. That seems to work pretty well, actually. Like I used to have several graphics editors, because I'd like the way one feature worked on each of them. I stopped doing that. Now, I just have one. And half the time, I just use Paint.

I use Microsoft Office because of the work I do. I can't do without that, but that's about the only commercial software I have on this Windows 10 PC, now.
