It's a big deal, has been for a long time. All sorts of smaller boats, large ships, cruise vessels, ferries, yachts, anything you can imagine, follow the Christmas theme and light up the waters during the nights before Christmas and fill the air with singing and music. People still carol in the streets also, like they did when I was a kid. Glad you enjoyed it.
