Mine was when I went to Yellowstone National Park with my best friend at the time. (a lady who I was in love with)
Next.....A trip to Japan in 2007. Showed around Tokyo to all the main attractions by a good friend. Even stayed at his place, and he gave me a guest room for visitors and fed me.

(30,158 posts)hands down best short trip.
Best time was the 1.5 years I lived in the Caribbean teaching scuba diving.
I was just trying to think of which diving trip was the best.
I think Tortola but Guanaja was also very special.
Where did you teach? I loved diving more than anything else but it was expensive so only once a year.
I miss it so much.

(34,640 posts)When you marry a school teacher, its nothing fancy. We took our time and drove across the country and ended up in San Francisco for 3 days.

(120,858 posts)back in the '80s before it got to be a tourist trap. Just lounged in a hammock on a veranda drinking cold Mexican beer. It was awesome.

(6,346 posts)We met up in Denver, moseyed our way west along the north side of the Grand Canyon, and spent a night wandering the casinos of Las Vegas (without gambling!).
The next morning we headed back east, beginning at the Nevada/California border and trying our best to follow old Route 66. It was fascinating! At one point, we needed to cross a bridge on a very old, nearly dirt road portion of the road. We decided that we wanted everyone to know that we were crossing intentionally, just in case the bridge collapsed. So we took selfies in front of the bridge!
Oh, I do miss Pete!
