OK, maybe not cheap, but lowest?
Heard on the morning radio that www.google.com/flights is the best website for the lowest airfares,
followed by www.kayak.com
except if you want or need Southwest, you must go to their website as they are no where else.

(24,324 posts)However, after selecting your destination and dates, where in that screenshot is the 'button' to click to actually search for flights?
I found it down farther in a list of options WAY at the bottom, below all the travel photos...--

One has to figure out to click on 'flights to Lisbon', ( in my case)

(1 post)If you have to get cheap flight tickets we have to search for travel agencies and fare comparing websites. As flight prices dynamically changes from time to time we have to plan in advance to get cheap air fare.

(11,491 posts)The cheapest airlines don't even show up in Travevolcity etc searchs, you have to go their website.
I booked AmericanAirlines to Medellin (MDE), Colombia outa Tampa for $471 on Travelvolcity my 1st time to Colombia.
2nd trip I did some research and checked out VivaColombia's and COPA and Spirit's websites and got roundtrip to Medellin from Miami for $230 on VivaColombia and could have got it for $180 if I had been able to fly out 2 days earlier on a Wed.
COPA does Orlando/MDE for $330 or so. And I booked a r/t Tampa/MDE on Spirit for $306.
All these cheap ticket prices were after luggage fees -small carry-on (laptop or purse) and 1 checked bag-up to 40lbs on Spirit, 44 on VivaColombia.
I think it'd be cheaper to fly to one of these airlines hubs from other US cities and then booking them for the S America leg. $180 RT from MIA is hard to beat to South America. Make sure you check flexible dates to see the cheapest fares.
(COPA also does Caribbean, Central America, Canada and Mex)

(14,276 posts)I go to Google flights about 3-5 weeks out if possible, and see which are the best days to go and return in the week I want to travel. Then I will enter those dates, look over their data, but go to the Airline website to book. That way you have a much easier time if you need to alter/cancel your reservation, and sometimes the airline site will be a bit cheaper since you are a member of their frequent flyer program.
on edit: I have also learned to fly from the nearest hub airport. I live in Columbia, SC which has about 300,000 people in the metro area, but I save 40-50% by driving an hour to Charlotte NC. Since the Columbia flights are going to usually connect in Charlotte or Atlanta anyway, it doesn't take any more time and I avoid one potential luggage-losing transfer.
