If you are going to spend all your time on and in the lake you might want to go earlier in the fall.

The last time I went there was in early June and it was quite nice.

The last time I was there it was just my daughter and I. After flying around Ship Rock and Monument Valley to the east, we followed the San Juan river for about 80 miles or so to the Glen Canyon dam before landing at Page. The whole area is filled with amazing views.

If you have time, be sure to take a tour of the Glen Canyon dam and visit Antelope Canyon.
