Leave it to the Anfield residents to stage of one of the great comebacks in Champions League history in knocking out Barcelona.
Scissors beats rock.
The country is imperiled.
Still, I take joy where I can.

(28,601 posts)Today's game was unbelievable!!!! Spurs win 3-2, win on away goals over Ajax.

(6,261 posts)And yet so deserved over two legs. I didn't think they could have kept Barcelona from scoring, and still thought so at half time, but Barcelona looked tired and dispirited in the second half.
What a goal that fast free kick was too!
Never give up!

(186,651 posts)My buddies are all over the EPL. One works at home so he can watch most of his Hot Spurs games. My boss is a huge Liverpool fan. I split early from work but I know he is out of his mind happy right now.
Simply amazing. Not only beating any team at that level 4-0 but without The King Salah AND shutting out Messi and Barca. One (away) goal by Barcelona would have pretty much wiped out any chance by Liverpool.
ESPN doesnt have the highlights yet. Will watch tonight. The goalkeeper apparently had at least 3 huge saves.

(28,601 posts)I used to go down and work out to the second half of Spurs games, but last time I went, they'd "upgraded" to new machines that have all these metrics, hills, etc., instead of TV channels. Stupid!

(102,483 posts)(without subscription TV, I could only have listened to it on radio). Well, my nephew, who chose over a decade ago to support Liverpool (I can't remember why - nothing local for him to support, anyway) will be over the moon. It hasn't been a rewarding time for him.
Now I have to find highlights somewhere in the UK.

(3,622 posts)In the 71 FA cup final, Liverpool FC has caused me to experience extreme joy and anguish.
After Istanbul in 2005 I thought I'd never feel that euphoria again...
Until this afternoon...
So proud of Jurgen Klopp and the lads today...
