Related: About this forumLooking for a good AR-15 semi-automatic (<$300)
Friend of mine has a custom-made AR-15 that he lets me target shoot with him. I absolutely love it. I'm damn good, I must say.
I don't have a ton of money to spend on it, but he was recommending a Mossberg. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Thanks guys.

(1,267 posts)theirs is called a MMR, it looks somewhat like an AR. I just googled them, and found their website, prices seem to be around $950 new. It might be hard to find one for $300.

(8,614 posts)Is to build it yourself. I can't build one for less than $500 and still use decent parts and barrel.

(15,396 posts)For a 223/5.56 the cheapest you'll find are the DPMS's at wal-mart. I think for a few dollars less than 600 bucks.

(881 posts)and are looking for a project you could buy a stripped lower and then slowly build one as you get the cash. You can get the lower for $100ish

(2,239 posts)Palmetto State Armory has some pretty high quality and inexpensive lowers that are actually made by Aero Precision. Just stray away from their special edition kookery pieces.
They also sell assembled uppers. Plug and play.
