Or are you just gathering information for some purpose?

Was when I was 5.

With my air gun, my pocket knife, a compass and the family dog.

My grandfather sent me out to get a black squirrel for his fly tying.

This followed several weeks of shooting practice, and instructions on how to find north, and how to sharpen my knife, etc.

It all seemed normal to me at the time.

Back when I lived in Maine, hunting was simple and convenient.
Now that I am in WA state, it is more effort than I want to spend.

... used to hunt - too many Yahoos out there and too many AR-15s. Had to back away with rifle unlimbered from three guys who stole the last Javalina we hunted in Arizona.

When this country finally gets gun control and regains its ever loving sense back, I may hunt again.

Everybody wants to rent their farmland to hunters these days.

BTW, is there a gun forum on this site? I collect old historical weapons . . . I am NOT an NRA-er fer heavens sake. They call people like me "Fudds" because we don't live and breathe their toxic gun culture.

I enjoy firearms, I don't worship them.

usually happen in this forum, which does not see much traffic.

Most of the gun talk takes place in the "gun control & RKBA" group.

That group usually has lots of political conversations going on, but the non-political topics are most welcome. Lots of knowledgeable folks there.

The other gun group is "Gun Control Reform Activism". Be warned: if you don't pass their anti-gun purity test, they will ban you from that group even if you are not disruptive.

I was against it most of my life and loved it my very first spring turkey hunt I was 50 yrds from a big Tom. All my other hobbies have fallen aside, it's all I want to do. Wish I was up a tree right now!
