World record attempt

Next month I will be in Ohio for a world record attempt at the Ohio Mile!

The bike is a highly modified 2003 Victory Vegas. 104" turbo charged engine producing 220HP at the rear wheel.

I am hoping for 170mph. This will be a standing 1 mile acceleration run with the speed clocked at the traps.

Leave your fly unzipped. The breeze at that speed should be curiously satisfying. Glassunion Aug 2014 #4

With appropriate gearing, 170 should be attainable in standing start mile.

And cannot remember the exact phrasing of the category, but it boils down to modified cruiser, V-Twin, overhead cam, turbo charged, gasoline, less than 2,000cc.

I'm pretty sure the bike is capable of reaching 170. Not sure about me though. Lol

If the bike runs well and I do my part, I think we have a shot at a record. But, this is my first attempt at this type of racing, so I am expecting a steep learning curve.

As long as I make it down the track without a mechanical failure or accident on every run, I will call it a successful first attempt!

And simply hope that the better half is in a loving mood when we return to the hotel. Lol
