Related: About this forumCruiser floorboard-to-footpeg conversion?
I'm trying to find out what the options are to allow removing the floorboards on my Kaw. VN900 Classic and replacing them with footpegs, hopefully to gain more clearance on cornering and avoid that sickening rasping noise when the boards touch down. It appears that all that that is available are highway pegs meant for mounting on engine guards, or custom pegs for bikes with existing pegs.
I know I've seen that some think the floorboards are a major plus on a cruiser, I just don't think that sounding like a grinder when I proceed through a corner at more than a grandfatherly pace is acceptable.
Anyone familiar with this type of conversion?

Note that the Highway Hawk pegs will require Kuryakin foot peg adaptors...
the first link is for pegs for the Custom, which already has pegs. I think the adapters are to fit the Kuryakyn pegs.
This may require changing out the shift and brake linkages as well, in which case it could get to be very pricey.
Here's a bit of discussion:

(2,101 posts)two bolts on the left, and it might be four on the right because of the brake, but it isn't difficult on any of the bikes. You need to look carefully where the pegs would have to go, here's why. The pegs may not be able to be positioned correctly to the controls. If that's the case you could see if aftermarket controls can be used.
