Looking for a new RPG. Any suggestions?

I'm looking for a new RPG that will last me a while. I'm more a fan of Bioware style story driven games as opposed to Elder Scrolls open world type games. I'm thinking of Mass Effect 3, because I loved the first two, but I'm worried about two things 1. Is as good as the others? I've heard mixed reviews. 2. Is it short? I want one that will last me awhile. I'm also looking at Kingdoms of Amalur. Comments on these two games or any suggestions would be most appreciated.

It is far more Diablo type of game rather then a Bioware type. There is a story... Something about how fate chose you to be the one fate could not guide so accept it... It was stupid even for an action RPG. Spells and skills were not bad but the over-the-shoulder view sucked bad. Plus 38 Studio's not only committed suicide with it but managed to kill Big Huge Games as well so... What is out is all there will ever be.

Wasteland 2 is still a long ways off... Borderlands 2 comes out mid Sept. A lot of FPShooting but some story and a bit of character building, more shooter then RPG though... Crap, thats all I can think of off the top of my head, I can't help you with ME3
