Related: About this forumWho here has characters in Inferno (Diablo 3)
I have both a barb and Demon Hunter in Inferno. I've managed to get my DH to the 3rd scene in Act 3 but my barb is stuck at the beginning of Act2.
I will say this much for treasure hunting. If you can manage to get your character NV up to 5 you can get some pretty decent drop. My current 2-handed Xbow was a drop and that Xbow put my damages up to 70k.
The problem - finding others to hunt with who can stick around long enough to get to NV5 without busting your bank for repair bills.
I hated Act2 in Inferno - that whole Kulle sequence is long and boring and I hated that annoying Gem guy you find in a barrell. I'd like to think if I can get up to NV5 (btw that increases your Magic Find to a really high rate when you hit 5) I might find some great drops in Inferno 3.
When I do get broke I go back to Act1 Inferno. I can pretty much survive most anything found in Act1 and pull in about 100k from gold and drops after about an hour of play.
But the problems I find with the public room include:
- Team members not sticking together. You have 4 people on a game and one person wants to camp out in town it makes it really hard to kill the elites.
- Team members who want to rush thru the scene without exploring all the caves. Those caves are usually loaded with elites and chests filled with money & goodies. Sure I can understand if you hit a bunch of hardass elites but to totally skip those caves means a loss in revenue.
- Imbalanced parties. I think a good team you need 2 tanks and 2 dps. DPS work better when they don't have to go near the enemies and tanks usually don't have the damages that a DPS can extoll.
- Characters woefully underequipped to handle Inferno - there are monsters that can one-hit me and I have 43k health and pretty good armor.
So I thought if we could get a team together we could maybe have a night each week where we go hunting for goodies. Who is interested?

(24,096 posts)quite some time ago and I still hunt there to get money and possible good drops (highly unlikely tho).
Act 2 desert beginning is where I get totally stuck. I am working on my resists (almost average of 600 each now, or thereabouts) and inching my way up to better equipment (got about 70k dps now too) but I am still not able to survive long enough in act 2 to make it worth the risk and costs.
If we could get enough people interested for a weekly run there, I'd be game to give it more trys. I only have the DH at 60 and Inferno right now and probably will be a while before another character gets there seeing as I broke down and finally got a subscription (by gamecard) to WoW - am kind of liking the change of pace from Diablo but most likely will pick up D3 again in a couple weeks and overdose on it again.

But I finally worked my way thru it but it wasn't easy. The rest of Act 2 is nothing like that opening run. But that section was one of the few times I rushed thru a section. I just wanted to get onto the next section so I wouldn't have to do that anymore.
I would honestly suggest skipping most of Act2 - the drops weren't any better than Act1 and most of the sections were annoying. I'm hoping someone revamps Act2 and streamlines a few sections of it.

(2,921 posts)And you're right about the team not sticking together to do Inferno.
My monk is coming along very nicely solo in Hell, although he's having a bit of trouble trying to handle the molten elites.
I'm thinking about doing a witch doctor or a barbarian...
What do you think?

(95,337 posts)I'm bored with the acts.
I just want to treasure hunt.
I love witch doctors in Inferno - they have all these tank options that help with elites

(2,921 posts)I only have one - the DH.
Monk is level 52. (Started Act 1 in hell)
Witchdoctor is only 4
It's ACT2 - I hate doing act2

That's where I'm stuck before focusing on the monk.

(8,601 posts)I've been so busy playing EverQuest 2 with my wife that I never get into D3. But today I cleared most of Nightmare Act 1 on my solo monk and had fun.
I'll try and get up to Inferno over the next couple of weeks.
