Jermaine Gales named new Lincoln football coach
EFFERSON CITY Lincoln University has hired a new head football coach.
The school announced Monday that Jermaine Gales will take over the Blue Tiger football program. He replaces Malik Hoskins, who was fired after an 0-10 season in 2020.
I am beyond excited about joining the Ambush, Gales said in a press release. The opportunity to impact the lives of young men as a head football coach has been a dream of mine since blowing my whistle for the first time. This is an opportunity to build something special and do something that has never been done before, in a community like Jefferson City, with an athletic director and president who are committed to developing our young men. I couldnt be more excited to become the leader of the Blue Tigers. My family and I look forward to sharing the journey with the Lincoln University community, alumni, and fans.
Gales, who graduated from Southern Arkansas in 2002, owns nearly two decades of college coaching experience at the Divison 1 and Division 2 levels. He spent last season as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Bluefield State College in West Virginia. The Big Blue went 4-3 in the school's first football season since the school discontinued the program in 1981.
