Looks like it'll be the Michigan game that decides the Big Ten East winner again. Which the Buckeyes have won 15 of the last 16 times, but maybe this will be the year for the Wolverines?
It's never a given. Saw too many upsets in years past during that game.

(106,340 posts)None of the scores are correct and it is close to a half-quarter behind. They have UGA at 28 in the end of 1st quarter. They are actually 42:0 in the second with 6:40
The ESPN real-time online scoreboard is accurate though.
Never seen this happen before.

(15,042 posts)... other scores so far today, so I hadn't noticed.
That's weird about the NCAA site today.

(15,042 posts)They might put in their back-ups for this game soon, which I certainly didn't expect to happen.
My kind-hearted deceased mother would be complaining about Ohio State being mean for "skunking" the opponent about now.

(106,340 posts)about mid-way into the third quarter. I'm with your late Mom. It is disheartening for these less competitive or smaller schools and really doesn't prove much. Even for those competitive teams having a bad day, a little mercy might be appropriate. If they still overwhelm with 2nd and 3rd string in, well, so be it, but at least don't continue to do so with the starters.

Over 500 yards of offense for the Buckeyes in the first half too.

But yes, never a sure thing.

(15,042 posts)One of the teams might seem lifeless most of the season, then suddenly look like world-beaters in that game.

49 to 0 now with Mich State. Not even half time.
I won't jinx anything by saying I am a little bit optimistic for next weekend.
You didn't hear me say that.

(15,042 posts)I think Ohio State has the best chance of beating the top SEC team this season too, whether it's Georgia or Alabama, but those match-ups don't always happen.
1998 is one example, but Sparty and their coach Nick Saban prevented that from happening. High pass after high pass to Plaxico Burress in the 2nd half of that game, with him reaching up to catch pretty much all of them.

(57,422 posts)I think Ohio State has a good chance against Georgia or Alabama this year. I wouldn't have said that at the beginning of this season.
Right, that 1998 game was a real shocker. Nick Sabin is certainly an OSU nemesis. Granted Mich State played a good game, but in the 80's when I was in grad school at OSU, we kept seeing OSU lose games they could/should have won.

(2,482 posts)how much the defense has turned it around since the beginning of the year. They shut WalkerIII down to like 27 yards, and he's in the Heisman race.
That said, you can throw out the records for THE GAME. Both sides always get up. I have to trust that Harbaugh will make bad choices.

(15,042 posts)It's at Ann Arbor too.
If Michigan puts enough pressure on Stroud, I wouldn't be surprised if they win and it will be deemed an upset. Stroud is still young, and he seems to lose his composure a bit with defensive pressure.
If there's signs of that happening early in the game, Coach Day should consider repeatedly handing off to their running backs instead.
Agreed about the Buckeyes defense looking better since the beginning of the season!
