Declaring ESPN to be “fake news,” Clemson coach “Datboy” Swinney said that a forensic audit of the game with NC State showed that the Tiggers definitely won, probably by the biggest margin in NCAA history.
Swinney, a noted amateur evangelist, pointed out that more than 90% of the fans dressed in Halloween orange at the game were heard to proclaim, “How bout them Tigers” at several points in the game.
Current President-for-Life Donald Trump was among the first to call and congratulate Swinney, offering to serve the victorious team another meal of McDonalds hamburgers if Swinney would agree to give him his credit card number “just to guarantee the purchase.”

Reminds me of Calvin Trillin’s piece “The Gipper Lives!” It was a comment on how the press treated Reagan. In the piece Trillin writes that George Gipp didn’t really die. He was living in a retirement home. The whole thing was a story Knute Rockne made up and the press lapped it up. In fact Notre Dame football wasn’t really all that successful under Rockne. The coach would just wait a few weeks after the season and then start claiming that ND had been undefeated and were national champions again. The South Bend and Chicago newspapers would report it as fact and it spread from there.

who were major Trump and Clemson supporters, so I had to endure a lot of shit for several years. I am now enjoying recycling that back to them.
