(36,375 posts)That top pick is Trevor Lawrence.
Yeah of course. Thanks.
But my Falcons are 0-3, and it looks like they have decided to throw every game.
Trevor Lawrence will be ours!

(32,017 posts)The Falcons have been to the Super Bowl twice in the 53-year-long history of the franchise. I actually went to Super Bowl XXXIII in Miami (1999), the first time that the Falcons went to the Super Bowl, on the theory that it was highly unlikely that the Falcons would ever return to the Super Bowl during my lifetime (a reasonable assumption). They lost to Denver 34-19.
The second time that the Falcons went to the Super Bowl (Super Bowl LI), they blew a 25 point lead and lost in overtime to the Patriots. It takes a special kind of masochist to be a Falcons fan, but when it comes to losing football games, the Falcons are supreme.
Trevor Lawrence will be ours!

(32,017 posts)0-6 with only 75 points of total offense. Wow!
This Falcons fan is quite worried that the Jets will win the Trevor Bowl (although I note that the Falcons pulled off an incredible 1-point loss to the Lions today).

(32,017 posts)Last week they pulled off an INCREDIBLE come-from-ahead loss to the Patriots to post an amazing 0-9 record. Congratulations, Jets fans!
Both the Jets and my pathetic Falcons (3-6), who managed to win 3 games that they could have easily lost, are off this week, but the Jets are clear favorites to win the Trevor Bowl at this point in the season.

(37,795 posts)mentally thinking about next weeks game against the Seahawks. I believe the Rams will win, but the game just got tighter in my mind; it will be THE game to watch.
I'm indifferent to McVay, but I like Jared Goff. I first saw him play at Berkeley, even if the real star that day was UCLA's Myles Jack.

(32,017 posts)The mighty Jets dominated the ground game (really?) and tragically posted their second win of the seasonthis time over the 10-5 Cleveland Browns.
The Jets record in the Trevor Bowl falls to 2-13, and they move into second place behind the 1-14 Jaguars who pulled off a convincing 41-17 loss against the Chicago Bears.

(36,375 posts)By having the 2nd pick, other teams hungry for a QB may be tempted to over trade to move up in the draft. Washington, for example, is now desperate for a QB. Come talk to the Jets!

The Jets managed a solid loss yesterday (28-14 against the Patriots), but, in the end, they LOST the Trevor Bowl to the MIGHTY Jacksonville Jaguars who finished the season 1-15 with an equally-impressive 28-14 loss to the Colts.
Serious credit is due to the Jets for doing their absolute best to lose each and every game they played. Throughout the entire season, the Jets achieved only 243 points on offense (lowest in the league). The Trevor Bowl-winning Jags put up 306 points on offense but won the contest due to the efforts of their amazingly pathetic defense which allowed 492 points compared to the Jets 457.
Congratulations to the Jaguars! Big money says that they will pick Lawrence.
Sorry, Jets fans.
-Laelth
Notes:
Best defense over the regular season: LA Rams with only 296 points allowed.
Best offense over the regular season: GB Packers with 509 points scored.
Pisses me off: My ATL Falcons scored 396 points on offense and allowed 414 points. Thats a difference of 18 points, yet the Falcons finish the season with a 4-12 record. We had several, close, heartbreaking losses this year. The team is obviously better than its record demonstrates.
