(1,265 posts)Wade Phillips knows to how to beat Tom Bill. He did it with dead legs Manning and the great Aqib Talib. Prediction - Brady gets sacked 3+ times. Loses 2 Super Bowls in a row? Montana was perfect in bowls. Go Rams. They are home in LA!

(3,268 posts)Manning won two Super Bowls (Super Bowl XLI and Super Bowl 50) and played in two others (Super Bowl XLIV and Super Bowl XLVIII), being named MVP of XLI, while losing XLIV in an upset, and managing just one successful touchdown drive in each of XLVIII and 50.
So Manning is at 50% and Brady will have a better percentage even if he loses!

(1,265 posts)was what I had posted - go back and read it. Phillips/Aqib will make it a game. It's unlikely Brady/Belichek lose 2 supers in a row, but if he does, some shine will come off Brady for not being able to win in his last years. He got beat by a back up QB last year, and a defense that didn't allow Brady to move the ball in the final possession of that game. Good luck to TB12 - he is going to need all the help he can get.

(1,265 posts)by mentions of the Patriots/Brady/Belichek as one of those Boston fans who cry every time someone doesn't swoon and gush over them. The players and staff are all grown ups who do very well at using bulletin board material to advantage. They win more than anyone else. Can't win them all, though.

(31,261 posts)Before being beaten by the Eagles, Brady had won the Super Bowl the year before. He did lose two in a row to the Giants (07 and 11). This will be Brady's ninth Super Bowl, Montana had something like four or five. Brady won his first three Super Bowls.
I am not a Pats fan, but respect what they have done. Brady has played in something like 12 Conference Championship games over an 18 year period, winning 9 of them. No one but Michael Jordan has enjoyed that type of sports success. In my mind, it is settled, regardless of what happens in the Super Bowl, Brady is the greatest QB to ever play the game, if he wins this Super Bowl, then he goes beyond legend.

(3,418 posts)I remember in high school we lost a very important game because a ref made a mistake and blew the play dead because he thought a tire mark from the homecoming half time was the out of bounds. It ended a thirty something game winning streak, All of us just went on and it was an important life lesson. The head coach remained in control and didn't blow up. Under the rules the play is dead once the whistle blows.Period. Life isn't always fair and sometimes strange things happen. I'm sure the ref felt bad, too. Another thing I realized was any number of plays could have changed the results, anyway. A pass that was 6 inches off, the ball boucing differently, a missed tackle, and on and on. Things happen. Life goes on.
