"Clash of the Titans"!

As a lifelong fan of the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) I will tell you, I will never lose one more penny betting against Cam Newton!

It is a gladiator sport - these guys give us their lives for fame and riches - and we call it 'entertainment' - but that damn Cam Newton is "The Gladiator"!

Been a Panthers fan since the day it was announced Charlotte would be getting an expansion team. Been a fan through the good and bad, from making it to the NFC Championship game in just their second season to the God-awful 2001 season when we went 1-15, to making it to the Super Bowl only to lose to the Patriots, and the 2-14 season a few years ago. I support my Panthers all the way and hope they bring the Lombardi to Charlotte on Sunday.

KEEP POUNDING!

But I agree. Regardless of the rules changes the league makes to make the game more passer friendly, defense still wins championships.

Same as it ever was...

So many people I talk to think I live in the past. I call those people Fantasy Football fans.

18. What a spectacular defensive performance

by the Denver Broncos. One of the best defenses I've ever seen. In the past three games they've held Ben Roethlisberger, Tom Brady and Cam Newton to a total of one passing touchdown.

Peyton Manning took more of a supporting role this time around, and his teammates (especially the defense led by Von Miller & Demarcus Ware) rallied enough to help win him another title.

Looking at some history, I was pretty blown away to read that in the past 25 years, teams with the number one defense have won something like 13 out of 14 times, while teams with the number one offense have lost something like six out of seven times.

I guess it's true what they say - defense wins championships.

Congratulations to the Broncos.
