Maybe the billionaire owner of the Browns realized that they might have made a bad PR move?

slight bit of background: http://www.democraticunderground.com/12101645

Announced yesterday, the Browns WILL pay the $120million in renovations.

Now, there is contractual obligations that the city still has to pay ... $2mil a year for 15 years, and the city will pony up $12million (for whatever).

(But the "liberally-biased media" locally is focusing on the "final" number/cost to the city - $42million)

Still, the city was NOT on the hook for the full $120million.

As I understand it, the lawyers for the NFL/team were trying to spin it that the city, as "landlord", had financial obligations to pay for most (if not all) of the "renovations" to the stadium ... (completed in 1999)
