Why does the NFL schedule a night game in Buffalo, NY on the First of December

It is at the least a public health hazard. I’m not concerned about who wins or loses or who has an advantage. I’m concerned about a sports conglomerate getting 10s of thousands of people out on the highways and streets on a night like tonight.

Okay that’s the end of my bitching. For Now.

Yeah, it is a lot of snow, but they have the ability to plow and their winter season is like this. Fans have snow tires or the equivalent. I can attest that even lots of "wet" snow (that is produced just at freezing temps) is a heck of a lot easier to drive in than mixed ice at lower temps.

When should they have scheduled it? Green Bay has the same issue. Denver not infrequently as well.

If so, the fans in the stands right now could be home watching the Saints and the Rams, a game which could have been switched with the Bills game time wise.

Green Bay, Denver, Buffalo, whomever could have their night games earlier in the season. As Bell would say, it’s just a thought. I’d prefer it be an NFL agenda item.

But, this doesn't seem excessive. Temps will hover in the low 30s for the next several hours. That said, in one game last year, I do recall it being too cold/snowy and I think it should have been rescheduled.

Obviously, this is weather I am accustomed to. If the teams who are not accustomed to this want to object, then I'd imagine they would/could force NFL changes. But, yeah, it does mean money to all involved.

Serious Question.

When shoveling snow from the stands, where was the snow shoveled?

New Orleans has a Dome. New Orleans gets about a half inch of snow a decade.

Here's the thing about lake-effect snow: it's very moist and therefore very heavy. Buffalo regularly sees a 20" snowfall at some point in the winter. If you built a dome there, it would collapse.

Folks who live in Buffalo are used to the snow. They can handle it.

The powers that be in Buffalo know not to build a dome, just schedule late season games in the daytime in coordination with the league. Fans can handle it and love the snow any time of day or night.

Hey this dome talk and night and day games are helluva distractions huh?

still needs constant shoveling (a ski trip to Tahoe taught me the necessity of 3 AM climbs to the roof on shifts to shovel FEET of snow).

Heavy, wet lake-effect snow would be the worst--collapsing the roof in the first season and potentially killing how many?

Even the Bills' new stadium won't have a dome. New Orleans' dome is air-conditioned.

I fell asleep, before the game even started.
Yes, I was just home from hospital stay.
Yes I had my first cigarette in 3 days, and yes, I watched the Hawks/ Jets .
And CBS, every chance they got, showed , snow being removed.
I played in North Dakota, in weather , you wouldn't imagine.
CBS yesterday, was all about viewers, I went to sleep. Hawks won, I saw enough dump trucks, and snow plows.
I just went to sleep.
