4. Not all Americans at all! Mom was from the Dallas area and a big Cowboys fan until Jerry Jones.

She didn't care as much after that, but I still root for the Cowboys in her honor. I grew up sitting with her & dad watching Cowboy games and rooting for them. It stuck, though I don't really care these days, its just a tradition for me.

It’s a gambling thing.
I know Lions are the new NFL sweethearts…
I’ll worry about them if they get through the playoffs to meet KC! 🙌😛😉😁😎💃

It was close, at least. If you gambled against the spread you would have done all right.

18. It's a pick six

Pick 6 teams at the beginning of season.
Low ante high payoff if your teams win enough games. I picked Chicago cuz of the new QB. I also picked the Seahawks cuz of the new coach. Both are doing OK but…

I shoulda picked Detroit and Buffalo too

I am currently 44th in ranking. Was in first place for the first five weeks…then a bunch of losses! Still got KC to go ALL THE WAY!!
Philadelphia and KC keeping me in it.

I don’t sportsbook but did put $20 on the Chiefs to go to Superbowl at the beginning of the season when their odds were decent.
It’ll pay 5.5x the money if they get there.

The Bears lose a game they should have been able to win thanks to an inexplicable coaching decision by Matt Eberflus.

Across Chicagoland, I am absolutely sure, fans were all yelling the same thing: TAKE A TIMEOUT! TAKE A TIMEOUT!

A rookie quarterback, about 20 seconds to go, you have to get the play in...

... and he just lets the clock run.

It's now a question of when, not if, Eberflus is fired. I expect they won't fire him until the end of the season, because the only candidate to replace him as interim coach is Thomas Brown, who needs to continue as offensive coordinator for at least the rest of the season. It took until the second half, but the offense got going eventually.

13. Yeah, despite that lack of a time out

the Bears really did look like the better team in the 2nd half. Too bad they couldn't get anything going in the first two quarters.

but it shows how things could have been different with a few more plays going their way in some games:

The Bears are the first team since the 1955 Eagles to have a positive point differential 12 weeks into a season but only have 4 wins.

He said, "We just s**t the bed."

I think these players believe in each other. I think they have little faith in their head coach, nor should they.

Caleb's the real thing. If we can just keep him healthy - and hire the right guy to coach the team - next year ought to be a better one. Expect Keenan Allen to move off for greener pastures and a large paycheck, and since the Bears will have three of the top 50 picks, expect more help on both lines. Poles will have to take some grief for not getting rid of Eberflus after last season, and he should, but he's done fairly well at improving the roster just two years after 3-14. He ought to stay at least another year.

17. 'Soft': Cold weather affected Dolphins, LB Jordyn Brooks says
Fri Nov 29, 2024, 11:46 AM
Nov 2024

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- At least one Miami Dolphins player believed the team allowed the cold temperatures to dictate its performance in Thursday's 30-17 loss to the Green Bay Packers. According to NFL Next Gen Stats, the Dolphins missed 20 tackles in the loss, which directly led to 132 additional yards for the Packers. Linebacker Jordyn Brooks bluntly said he thought the mid-20-degree temperatures played a role.

I thought we were soft," Brooks said after the game. "Simple as that, I thought we were soft today. I don't know if guys was too cold. ... I don't know what it was. I feel like the elements played a part in how we played as a group, and that was the result that we got."

After going five straight games without allowing an opponent to rush for 100 yards, the Dolphins allowed 108 rushing yards in the first half Thursday. They also allowed Green Bay to average more than 7 yards per play and failed to force a turnover for the first time since Week 8. Though Miami outscored the Packers 14-6 in the second half, the poor defensive effort and 24-3 first-half deficit were too much to overcome.

Defensive linemen Calais Campbell grimaced when told the final number of missed tackles after the game. "That's the game right there, man. Twenty missed tackles -- it's hard to win," he said. "I think it was one of those days where what could go wrong, went wrong. ... I don't ever want to make excuses, but I felt like today, the ball bounced their way and they made the plays to win the ball game. When we had our opportunities to make tackles in critical spaces, we have to find a way."
