The transformation of Tua Tagovailoa from a QB with shattered confidence into MVP candidate

"Mike McDaniel expected Tua Tagovailoa's confidence to be shattered. Had to be considering the beating — internally and externally — the Dolphins quarterback had taken since being deemed the savior of a floundering franchise. But the depths of that damage were far more than even McDaniel envisioned when he arrived in February as the Dolphins' new coach."...

"The fact that McDaniel is the best thing to happen to Tagovailoa since he left the warm embrace of Nick Saban is indisputable. And if there was any doubt, we now know the worst thing to happen to the sensitive quarterback was being drafted by a team coached by Brian Flores. They didn't say it directly and never will, but the comments by McDaniel and Tagovailoa were a indictment on Flores and his staff." [Emphasis is mine]

Something to think about, for those fans of struggling teams who are talking with fellow fans and kicking the tires on Brian Flores as a possible head coach.

around a young QB. Three of the picks went for Chubb and Hill. The other went to Tua's receiver at Alabama, Waddle.

The Miami GM has done a nice job.

unlike McDaniel, who was touted as an offensive wunderkind. so, like Saleh, Flores would likely focus on a strong D to the detriment of the offense. And Flores IIRC had co-offensive coordinators and it's probably better to have a single, strong voice in that position especially with a young QB. But it's unsurprising to see white writers still kicking Flores gratuitously.
