Another great one was the AFC Championship vs. the Seahawks two weeks earlier.
We'd started the season 4-0 and but went 8-4 the rest of the way and didn't look very dominant going into the playoffs. Many thought Seattle would crush us.
They were wrong.

(15,359 posts)rotisserie baseball league and the guys that wrote the book for that put one out for fantasy football and we started the league.
We have met in person every year and have always had at least 14 teams. We had 16 before they put in bye weeks. We might be close to being the oldest running league in the country.
I didn't watch the game but read the wiki page about it. I remember that one well and what party I was at watching it. I miss those days, but especially New Years Day.
I'm one that thought New Years Day was the biggest football day of the year. Two years ago, I turned on the TV to see who was playing and one of the first things I heard was who was sitting out the games that day because of their NFL draft prospects. I only played high school ball, but that shit is so far away from what we were taught a football team was about that it makes me sick. How did it get like this?

(42,715 posts)that number 16, Jim Plunketts Jersey was never retired. But then again I guess Joe Montanas jersey is not retired either. Are there any football jerseys that are retired? They do it in baseball Im not sure about football.

Joe Montana's number was retired in 1997. Raiders apparently don't retire numbers.
